Roots and shoots founder Dominic is never happier than when digging around in the mud. His love of nature and working outside are just two of the reasons for starting his company.
Dom initially completed a horticulture apprenticeship at Sharpham Esate. He was lucky enough to learn his trade within this stunning setting and his love of nature and horticulture grew. He later underwent another learning period when he worked with another gardener and landscaper in Wiltshire. As his skills and expertise developed, he decided to go it alone and set up Roots n Shoots. He threw himself into his new venture, starting from scratch, with a few basic gardening tools, his mate’s old motor and lots of enthusiasm. He has never looked back.
Dom considers himself lucky. He worked hard to make his dream of running a successful business into a reality. Not only that, he has built the business around what he values and loves; nature, hard graft, reputation, vision, seeing results, teamwork and spending time outside.
The team at Roots and Shoots get a great deal of satisfaction from seeing projects through from design to completion, and use customer satisfaction as the main metric of success.
